"How much is an LED screen?" is the question we hear most. The honest answer is that it depends, but not mysteriously. Six things make up almost every LED wall quote. Know them and you can budget with confidence.

1. Screen size

LED is built from panels, so cost scales with area. A 4m × 2.5m conference screen uses a fraction of the panels of an 8m × 4.5m arena backdrop. Try our LED wall calculator to see how many panels your size needs.

2. How long it's on site

A one-day conference costs less than a three-day exhibition. Ask whether build and de-rig days are charged. With us, collection and return days on dry hire aren't.

3. How it's mounted

Ground-stacked screens are quickest. Flown screens need rigging points and more time, and outdoor screens on truss goalposts need ballast and wind planning. The venue often decides this for you.

4. Processing and playback

Every wall needs a processor to scale your content, and most events need switching between laptops, cameras and video. A good supplier includes this rather than adding it later.

5. Content

LED walls are rarely 16:9. Your slides can be adapted, or we can build branded backgrounds and motion graphics. Content creation is optional, but it makes the screen look its best.

6. Crew and delivery

A crewed hire includes delivery, build, a technician for the event and de-rig. Dry hire to experienced crews is cheaper, but your team takes responsibility for the build.
